LRDict is a helpful chinese dictionary that contains a word and a phrase search. You can input english, german, pinyin, and chinese characters (simplified or traditional). There are two dictionaries: English-Chinese and German-Chinese. You can enable and disable them in the settings. Also choose between traditional and simplified characters, and black-on-white or white-on-black display.
LRDict allows the input of Chinese characters using the standard iPhone handwriting keyboards. It is possible to copy to the clipboard from the displayed results, and the search bar. Touch any result to use it as a new search (loop effect). The pinyin transcription is displayed with the tone-accent.
In phrase mode search a whole phrase of chinese characters. Get a decomposition and translation of its parts. The pinyin is displayed when there are no disambiguates. Touch and hold for longer than 1 second and view the character in big, and have it copied to the clipboard. In addition, the kang xi radical and stroke number appear below the character.
In word mode search for an entry with on the fly display of the results. Loop through results to get the back translation.
Pressing the tab bar allows switching between modes. The query gets copied to the other mode. Press the back button in the top navigation to go back to previous queries if needed.
Bookmark important queries, and get back to them using the bookmark tab. Find recent queries using the history view.
Search for numbers and view the regular and financial anti-fraud translation.
Featuring Optical Character Recognition (OCR) using Tesseract Open Source Engine. Take a photo of Chinese/English/German characters and have them converted to digital text! Standard iOS select/copy gives you all the freedom of using the scanned text the way you want. Integrated in the dictionary: Loop up the scanned characters with a single touch in the dictionary's phrase mode.
